Leap and Grow Wings

I played the piano when I was younger. I fumbled with the keys, and then I took lessons and did some recitals. Like most kids, I found my biggest fan was my mom. She told me that everyone was blessed with a gift and it was our duty to find it and use it, because you never know how it might bless someone else.

Some of you are healers and caregivers, bringing lives into this world with love and humble spirits. Some are mothers who have chosen to put their children first, who are investing your whole selves into making the best choices for your younglings.

And all of you are strong and brave.

Sometimes, like an 8-year-old sitting at a piano bench staring at the smooth, black-and-white surface with swinging feet, we struggle to decide if we are on the right path. We wonder if the gifts we are pursuing are the ones we are meant to fight for, and if they are going to make any difference.

But keep being brave. Keep pursuing. Keep believing. You never know how you might bless someone.
