Take Those Pants off the Wall
Stop. Breathe. Be proud.
I once bought some shorts that were too small for me and hung them on the wall of my room. "I'll wear these when I look good again," I said to me.
They were supposed to motivate me. Make me feel inspired to workout. And we all need motivation, it's what helps us move forward.
I've decided never to do it again. Why?
Because it says "you're not good enough yet." It forces you to focus on what COULD be rather than appreciate the way things are now. It can rob the joy from our day because we feel shame, and shame is crippling. I never want my kids to feel this way.
Shame tells us to wear baggy tents to hide our stretch marks and mom bods. It hangs on the wall and looks like pants we torture ourselves with.
Dont listen to shame. Be proud. Be brave. Believe you are beautiful!
